The Faculty of Maritime Studies and Transport, the only dislocated unit of the University of Ljubljana, has 60 years of tradition in educating seafarers as well as transport technology and logistics professionals. The faculty provides courses on all three Bologna levels and has currently around 600 enrolled students. Three professional studying programs (Nautical studies, Marine engineering, and Transport technology and transport logistics) and one university study program (Transport technology and logistics) are provided for the first cycle students. The second cycle is currently undergoing syllabi reformation and consolidation, but still supports both core orientations of the faculty, namely maritime studies on the one hand and transport and logistics on the other. The doctoral program is intended to deepen the scientific knowledge of individuals interested in maritime or general transport and logistic science.
The multidisciplinary approach of the faculty, its national and international standing, as well as good employability of faculty’s graduates, grants a constant number of enrolled students per year and also the attraction of international students.
The academic staff of the faculty is regularly involved in national and international projects, securing the permanent useful link between the real sector and academic sphere from which all parties involved benefit.
We have experience in organizing significant events, like international conferences or summer schools, and also smaller events, like round tables, meetings, or excursions for students.
